Founded in the early 2000s by the SJM Vidyapeetha, BMCH was conceived to serve the underserved Chitradurga district by providing accessible and community-oriented medical education. Today, affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and recognized by the NMC, it stands as the only medical college in the region, combining academic strength with deep social commitment.

Courses Offered:
- MBBS – 150 seats, 4.5 years + 1-year internship (NEET UG → KEA counseling)
- MD/MS – multiple clinical and pre-clinical specialties via NEET PG and KEA counseling (total ~44 PG seats across MD/MS disciplines)
Admission Process:
- MBBS: via NEET-UG and KFYC / MCC (Deemed quota) counseling
- MD/MS: via NEET-PG and KEA-organized counseling
- Selection is strictly merit-based, with defined quotas for Open, NRI, and Management seats; tuition ranges from ₹12 L/year (open) to ₹30 L/year (NRI/management)
Placements & Recruiters:
- Graduates progress through rigorous internship rotations and then enter clinical practice or PG specialization pathways.
